Wang Gang

Alexander Wang for Interview Magazine by Diane Von Furstenberg. Photography by Mikael Jannson.

WANG: The funny thing is there’s this impression that everyone in fashion is so glamorous and that they live these tall-tale lives. For me, what I love most about my social life now is that it’s exactly the same as it was before: hole-in-the-wall restaurants, bad movies, and a lot of sitting around with friends doing absolutely nothing. All my closest friends are the ones I made while in college or who knew me growing up. They keep me grounded, and I adore that about them.

For the rest of the interview.

Crown On The Ground

You know summer is right around the corner when you and your friends begin to talk of music festivals. And suddenly, you find yourself saving every pretty penny you find just for those solid three days of non-stop music, body heat and your new favorite band. One of my absolute favorite things about music festivals though is the individual take on “festival style”. And nothing beats the combination of good music and effortlessly cool style.

Here’s a few photos of some of my favorite “festival” looks:

If you were lucky enough to make it down to Austin, Texas for SXSW this past weekend then you surely saw some amazing and note-worthy bands. Although I couldn’t make it down, I managed to make a list of the bands that you should keep your eyes and ears tuned into to. Knock yourself out. You can thank me later.

15.The Golden Filter

14.Warpaint

13.Vivian Girls

12.Real Estate

11.Titus Andronicus

10.Broken Bells

9.Neon Indian

8.Best Coast

7.The Morning Benders

6.Woods

5.The Smith Westerns

4.Toro Y Moi

3.Local Natives

2.Surfer Blood

1.Sleigh Bells

My #1 pick and undoubtedly one band you’ll see a lot more of this year is Brooklyn duo, Sleigh Bells.

Who were your SXSW favorites? Which music festivals will you be dressing for this summer?

Warmer Daze

ODDSAC, the visual album by Danny Perez and Animal Collective, was literally unbelievable last night. The visuals were horrifyingly dreamy, and the music created a perfect combination of emotional ups and downs. After the showing, Geologist and Perez came out and answered a few questions from the audience. I was extremely disappointed, but not surprised, to hear so many questions from people trying to pry into the literal intentions behind the film’s “message”. However, both Geologist and Perez cleared up that there is no intentional message in the film, it is your own to interpretate. I couldn’t agree more.

Anyways, here are a few photos from earlier in the day. Bein’ real goofy in the beautiful weather.

“GQ!”

“INSTYLE!”

“SEVENTEEN!”

“NYLON!”

I am soon to be Michigan bound! I’m quite anxious to be spending the weekend back home. Lots of pictures to come!
Hope all of you darlings have a good weekend.

Gems and French Icons

I’ve spent my day in somewhat of a haze. I’ve been listening to a lot of Serge Gainsbourg lately and I’m finding myself itching for an escape from this repetitive slump I’m in. I simply just want to travel and feel alive. Today, I did my traveling through thrifting (as I always have) and found some gems. Take a look:

I found this adorable little hook box, perfect for all my rings.

These nude pump wedges were exactly what I was looking for! A mere $2!

The most darling little ring! Had to have it.

These all upper leather beauts could not be passed up. Can’t wait to wear these to death.

This charming vintage Lord & Taylor blouse will look adorable with tights and shorts!

While I’m on my Gainsbourg kick I can’t help but adore everything and anything Jane Birkin. You had it made Gainsbourg, nobody looked better on your arm than Birkin!

While Birkin kept her fashion sense relatively simple, her daughter Lou Doillon (father film director Jacques Doillon, half sister to Charlotte Gainsbourg) has this incredible way of looking both completely disheveled yet so put together.

In The Sun

If you haven’t already heard the new single, “In The Sun”, from She & Him’s much anticipated second LP here is the video featuring an always charming Zooey Deschanel.

How in love are you?! Right? The album will be available on March 23rd. And for all you Chicago-ians I was just informed that She & Him will be putting on a free show at Millenium Park June 7th!

Sweetheart’s and Bubble Tea’s

Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. lately! It’s nearing the end of the quarter so things are getting a little frazzled in this head of mine. But something that did absolutely make my Monday (besides Gossip Girl returning of course) was receiving an amazing American Gold dress courtesy of Suzanne Ford. Thank you! Thank you! You’re a sweetheart!

This dress paired with my vintage acid wash denim jacket truly brought out the 80’s babe in me. (;

Here’s a few rando photos from the weekend. And if you were in Chicago on Saturday you were anywhere but inside! The weather is slowly but surely getting warmer and warmer. So my friend and I spent our Saturday afternoon roaming around Lincoln Park, sipping on our bubble tea’s and enjoying the beautiful weather.

The final result of my project! What do you think?

Well it’s back to the books for me! Hope everyone has a pleasant week. But in the meantime…here’s a little eye candy for ya. Check out this stunning Cleobella leather handbag. I know, I can’t stop drooling either.
